Barry Williams visits K1 Speed Torrance

Friday, August 20th, 2010

K1 Speed in Torrance California, was recently visited by the original Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady during the 1969-1974 seasons. Barry grew up in Santa Monica, California, down the street and around the corner from actor Peter Graves. As a grade schooler, Williams began pestering Graves for show biz advice, and at 11 the youngster had an agent and began appearing in TV commercials, the rest was history as he played in roles in the Mod-Squad, Adam 12 and The Invaders, long with a slew of others before being cast for the role as Greg Brady.

Barry took to our technical concrete layout and really enjoyed our fast paced electric karts. K1 Speed offers the best in indoor kart racing action in the Los Angeles area and the smile on Barry’s face proved so.

We look forward to seeing Barry back again soon!

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

And away they go….K1 Speed in Carlsbad, was visited by professional horse racing jockey Michael Baze and friends, during a recent break from the horse racing excitement that is currently going on at the famed Del Mar race track.

Baze, shown here riding Mi Sueno at Del Mar in 2009, has had a long standing career with horse racing spanning over the past 7 years. Coming from a horse racing family, his efforts and determination have made him well known in the Southern California region, and earned him the title of most winning-est jockey at Del Mar and Hollywood park in 2007.

Giving our electric racing karts a solid run, Michael really enjoys racing with a different kind of horse power on our technical layout. His racing abilities, and focused mind, rewarded him with some very quick and competitive lap times as he held the quickest lap times over his other friends that came along to enjoy the racing experience.

K1 Speed wishes Michael good luck this racing season and look forward to seeing him back again soon.
