Everyone in college football is talking about the “Luck of the Irish”. In Austin they are talking about the luck of Ignacio Martinez and how he used it to win his 4th consectutive Challenge GP. Ignacio spent well over half the race in 4th position and then capitolized on a timely crash involving leaders Chris Splendoria and Matt Hammock to all but lock up the points race for the season. Jason Young had another strong outing collecting 2nd place hardware and youngster Bray Munroe battled from last position all the way up to 3rd place.
The B main was dominated by several new GP Challenge racers. Sarin Kodappully raced hard and won the B main in his first outting of the season. Another first timer, Adam Fujawa, finished in 2nd place. Donald Munroe, who is #5 in the national K1RS overall points standings, finished in 3rd place.
