K1 Speed in Irvine, California held round four of their Challenge GP Race series this past Sunday with a smaller than normal crowd. Some drivers in the top part of the points chase were able to take advantage of the early morning start and gain some ground on the championship points standings over the rest of the field. Nicholas Rebeil would end up taking the pole position with the single lap time of 41.574 seconds to set the pace for the field for the A-Main.
Drivers would take to the track for the days main event with a full field of drivers giving chase to pole setter Rebeil, as he lead the field into turn one and never looked back. Most of the race action would be between the middle of the pack drivers with Jake Hardy, Royce Mohler and Michael Dozier all battling it out for position. Rebeil and second place qualifier Jason Foreman put some distance over the rest of the field as the laps wound down, and put on a show themselves as the two drivers battled back and forth. With the checkered flag out Nicholas Rebeil would go on to take the win, followed by Jason in second and Jake hardy would cap off the top three on the podium in third.
With round four down and just two more races to go the top drivers are all in a good chase for the championship points standings with the top ten drivers all within striking distance of each other. Come join us May 6th for our next race and take on the best in indoor kart racing competition in Southern California with K1 Speed in Irvine California.
