K1 Speed Blog - go karts, karting and go-kart race events

ATTENTION JUNIOR AND TEEN RACERS! The K1 Speed Junior League Challenge GP race series is back in full swing for 2012 with more participating locations and a more full schedule. We’ve made some changes for this years series as it mirrors much of the Challenge GP race series for the adults at the various locations. Starting February 7th, the season will kick off with seven K1 Speed locations participating in the first half of the series. Each race of the season will be on the first Tuesday of each month with sign-ups beginning at 530PM and qualifying racing to begin at 6PM. Drivers will be grouped according to size – anyone that is under 4′ to 4’9″ will be in the junior sized karts, anyone that is 4’10″ and over will be in the adult sized karts. Both groups will be held on the same night but on track at different times. The series main races will be Mini Grand Prix style races with a 1 race qualifier for the best lap time, and a 1 race main event to determine the overall winner based on position.

Entry fee per driver is $40 per event, and we are going to be awarding points for the overall points championship based on the finishing order of each driver in the main which will go to the points championship. The season is a couple of weeks away so get ready to come out and race starting February 7th at one of the participating locations in Southern California, the South-West, in Nor-Cal, or at our South Florida location!
