The Ontario Challenge GP was this past Sunday night, with 8 fierce competitors ready to battle it out. Robert Hernandez was able to grab the pole position for the A Main, with a fast lap of 52.017. Qualifying was very smooth, with everyone putting in their all to post the fastest lap they could.
The Final started with Robert taking them down very slow for the start of the race and once the green flag flew, Robert never looked back and pulled away as soon as the rounded the first corner. The battle was on for the remaining seven positions, as all the competitors were nose to tail from 2nd to 8th. They continued to swap positions and really put on an exciting race for all the spectators in the building. After the 7 laps were complete, Robert took the checkered flag by 4.2 seconds over second place Daniel Murray. Sean Fite finished in third, Zackary St. Onge in forth, and Clay Trueman rounded out the top 5.
We look forward to seeing more new faces the next Challenge GP in Ontario on September 1st. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the racing starts at 7pm. See you next month!
