K1 Speed in Ontario, California hosted its first 85 lap Enduro Race last week with great results. The participating drivers showed what it takes to handle 85 laps of intense indoor kart racing action giving them about an hour of track time. The fun came during the pit stops as drivers tried to out-think each other.
K1 Ontario Manager Ryan Teague said “It was great watching the strategies come into play during green flag pit stops as the drivers swapped into freshly charged karts. All in all we had a blast and look forward to the next race.”
In what was a clean showing of racing and driving skill, David Gonsalves was the man of the hour taking the top spot on the podium. He would be followed by Derek Williams, who remained on the lead lap for the duration of the race, while Matt Carr would fall a lap down but was able to grab the final podium spot and take third for the event.
The K1 Speed Enduro will be taking place every Thursday evening in the heart of San Bernardino with sign-ups at 6:30 PM and racing starting at 7:00 PM. Cost is just $65 per driver. Drivers will be awarded points according to how they finish in enduro races over the next four months.
