K1 Speed Ontario hosted their second GP for the 2010 season in February, with their super-reverse track layout. Competition between the GP attendees is getting tougher, as drivers are starting to put their skills to the test with each event. With a strong focus and determination, Garrett Regan took the pole position in the A main with a qualifying time of 51.54 seconds. Beating out GP regular John Tanaka, who qualified second with a time of 51.89 seconds, and followed closely by Justin Davenport who qualified third with a time of 52.19 seconds. Garrett was able to hold off the other competitors throughout the 8 lap A main to take the win, with Khalifa Alasiri working his way up to second, and John Tanaka rounding out the top 3.
The B Main brought on just as much competition, with qualifying remaining tight between each driver. John Carroll took the pole, followed by Kazuhiko Ito qualified in second, with Chris Weaver qualifying closely behind in third. When the green flag dropped, John was able to jump out to an early lead and maintain his position through out the 8 lap battle. Kazuhiko and Chris finished the same way they qualified in second and third.
As the K1 Speed GP’s look to next month the Ontario Super Track is sure to bring great racing action for all to view or participate in. Come out for our next race March 14th to see for yourself.
