The season is in the books, as K1 Speed in San Bernardino finished out its Challenge GP Race series this previous Sunday. With the overall points leader holding onto a good lead for the championship the 2nd, and 3rd overall points winner was a battle that would be determined after the final checkered flag of the main event. After two rounds of qualifying, John Tanaka grabbed the pole position for the main event with a fast lap of 55.598 seconds earning him 2 bonus points for his efforts on the Super-Track configuration.
The main event for the evening was straight forward with Tanaka leading the group for the green flag rolling start. Overall points leader Tyler Pope was right on Johns back bumper sitting in the second qualifying spot and new comer to the Challenge GP series Blue Feurt in third. At the start of the race John Tanaka would run away from Tyler spoiling his perfect winning streak season. Tyler would hold his position not allowing anyone around him, letting his second place finish give him the number one overall championship win. Blue Feurt held onto third place respectively to take the final podium spot for the main event.
The battle for the second and third place points championship between John Perry and Nicholas Sima would be close as the two went back and forth with each other looking to find a way to capture any additional points. John Perry would end up taking 4th in the main with Nicholas Sima in 5th creating a points tie between the two. Nicholas would be awarded the second in the championship points overall since he attended all 6 events and Tyler would take the third overall respectively.
