K1 Speed in Torrance California held its fourth round of its Challenge GP race series this past Sunday with a mixed group of drivers all looking for that top spot on the podium. Qualifying was quick and straight forward with Matthew Widner taking the overall pole position for the night. Alton Arnold III would qualify just behind him in second and Derek Esquibel would hold down the third qualifying position after the second qualifying round.
Main event action for the night would be a back and forth battle between the entire field as drivers all worked to put down fast laps and try to out do one another and make thee way up to first place by the time the checkered flag had dropped. Pole sitter Matthew Widner would give up his position to Alton Arnold III by mid race and Alton never looked back taking the win for the night. Matthew would remain in second for the remainder of the race. Derek Esquibel was unable to hold his qualifying position for long as John Tanaka would ass him to round out the top three. Derek’s night would get worse as he later spun out dropping back to sixth position to finish out his night.
