In 2013, more than 23,000 Southland residents, making up over 861 spirited walk teams, turned out to support their local Ronald McDonald Houses and helped to raise over $1.9 million.
WALK FOR KIDS AT A GLANCE
What: a non-competitive 5k (3.1 miles) event for adults and children at all fitness levels held simultaneously at four different Southland locations. In Orange County, individuals, businesses, community groups, families and friends walk to raise money and awareness for the Orange County Ronald McDonald House.
Why: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California provides a “Home Away from Home” for families of seriously ill children receiving care in Southern California. No family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
