K1 Speed in Ontario, California played host to a number of participants as the Kyle Busch Foundation staged a celebrity event this past weekend while the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup series rolled into Auto Club Raceway just down the road in Fontana, California. Kyle teamed up with the 2009 Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg and their main sponsor NOS Energy Drink, who donated $10,000 to the charity, it would be an evening of kart racing that would be unforgettable for the lucky few that got to witness this special event.
Joining Kyle and Chris on track were, among others, William Fichtner (Actor-Prison Break), Kimberly Leemans (model), Holli Ugalde (winning chef from Hell’s Kitchen), Josh Barnett (MMA fighter), and Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr. (American Idol). Kyle would go on to win the race in commanding fashion, he followed up this event with a win on Saturday in the Nationwide series race and with a strong run and third place finish in the Sprint Cup Race on Sunday at California Speedway.
Everyone had a great time during this charity event and K1 Speed would like to thank Kyle Busch, Chris Forsberg and NOS for allowing the best indoor kart racing facility in the Inland Empire to host the night’s festivities for the Kyle Busch Foundation.
K1 Speed in Irvine, California was visited by some of the Rockstar Energy Drinks celebrities this past week for an all out Super-Track battle to determine who was the best of the best in the world of indoor kart racing. Professional skateboarders Buckey Lasek and Rune Glifberg who frequent various K1 locations, were joined by professional car driver and TV host Tanner Foust, along with other friends of theirs, all taking on our electric racing karts to their limits and working to out-do one another posting some very fast laps on our large indoor layout.
As the entire group went back and forth all trying to post a fast lap to take the pole for the main event in their Mini Gran-Prix race Bucky and Tanner who both have years of racing experience seemed to have a dominating presence over the other drivers. Not to allow himself to be out done, Rune Glifberg ended up taking the win in the final race showing he’s got just as much ability in a kart as he does on a skateboard.
Everyone in the group had a great time at the best indoor kart racing facility in the OC. Everyone at K1 Speed is looking forward to seeing these guys back in again sometime soon!

K1 Speed introduces zero-emission, European electric go karts to the Greater Phoenix, Arizona area with the opening of its Eighth public indoor karting center.
Irvine, CA January 3rd, 2011 — After years of success in the Southern California and Pacific Northwest markets, K1 Speed – the nation’s largest indoor go kart racing company – is launching its newest location in Phoenix, Arizona, bringing the thrill and excitement of electric indoor karting to a whole new group of enthusiasts. The 50,000 sq. ft. indoor kart racing facility – which is the company’s first in Arizona – features a professionally designed racetrack, high performance electric karts that are capable of 45mph, and a large collection of authentic racing memorabilia. Adhering to the same standards that the previous six centers have been built to, K1 Speed Phoenix is intended to be a world-class entertainment venue.
Like K1 Speed’s facilities in Southern California and Washington State, K1 Speed Phoenix will allow novice and veteran drivers alike (as well as children who meet the 48″ height requirement) to experience an authentic racing atmosphere. The center’s large indoor kart track features a challenging combination of long straights and hairpin turns, providing racers with a variety of opportunities to test their mettle. When not on the track, racers can take advantage of the spacious lobby, which features a video game area, Pit Cafe, official racing memorabilia (such as race suits, helmets and race cars), and comfortable seating areas with club-like lighting, large projection screens and plasma televisions.
New racers to the Phoenix location will have their performance analyzed by the live K1 Speed Race Scoring timing system, which is integrated with every K1 Speed location. Racers will be able to see first-hand how their performance stacks up against the more than 1000,000 racers who have competed at other K1 Speed locations. The scoring system provides valuable data on lap times and overall rank, and is a great tool for individuals who want to track their performance and progress on return visits.
In addition to indoor kart racing, K1 Speed Phoenix also has on-site meeting rooms, which can be rented for corporate events, team building exercises, product launches, private parties or seminars. Featuring state-of-the-art audio / visual systems which include 110″ projection screens, DVD players, and Wi-Fi Internet access, the meeting rooms have everything that a company would need to host a business meeting or presentation, making K1 Speed a unique alternative to traditional meeting venues. Catering services are also available and race packages can be included with room rentals for an unforgettable, morale-building experience.
Susan Danglard, co-owner and Marketing Director for K1 Speed, believes that the company provides a unique experience in the marketplace because it is the eco-friendly AND user-friendly choice for indoor entertainment. “Our European race karts perform solely on electricity, which eliminates the toxic emissions produced by gas-powered engines,” Susan states. She feels this technology is good not only for the environment, but also for the customer, as the centers do not have to vent exhaust gases out of the building. K1 Speed Phoenix incorporates energy efficient lighting and more sustainable business practices as well to help eliminate waste and reduce costs.
K1 Speed Phoenix is conveniently located for residents of the Greater Phoenix area, including those living in Phoenix, Glendale, Tempe, Scottsdale, Peoria, Mesa, Chandler, Buckeye and Avondale. For more information, visit www.K1Speed.com.

RedBull is at it again for the New Year. Their No Limits 2010 Show will feature seven time winter X Game medalist and champion snocross racer, Levi Levallee. RedBull and Levi are planning on making his polaris snowmobile grow wings for this record breaking attempt. The event is to be held at the Embarcadero Marina Park in the port of San Diego Bay. Levi’s jump will take him over a 300-foot water gap to a landing ramp located on small island at the entrance to the marina. K1 Speed was stoked to have this extraordinary athlete come in and participate at our K1 Speed Ontario location to race some karts and blow off some steam before his upcoming jump. Levi joins a short list of athletes (Robbie Maddison 2007, Rys Milen 2008, Travis Pastrana 2009) who have been asked by RedBull to join in their No Limits new years eve show on ESPN. They have all pushed their mental, physical, and technical limits in order to break records. We wish Levi all the luck for his upcoming endeavor.
