Thursday – Red Bull KTM team visited K1 Speed Anaheim for some karting! We had a great turn out to see the Supercross riders race against each other on the track. Since Ken Roczen won in Oakland it was only fitting to see him in the #1 kart. Ryan Dungey followed with #5 and Marvin Musquin in #25. The first race ended up with Musquin taking 1st followed by Roczen then Dungey. Now that the riders have warmed up they headed to the mezzanine for a quick break.
Qualifier – It was good to see some of our regulars out on the track together that don’t race each other too often. Kc Cook, Brandon Walsh, Diego Morales and Mike Marino won the Fast Lap Contest and now have the chance to race some of the best Supercross riders in the world. It was a good fight between Kc and Brandon but Kc took the heat with 27.357 followed by Brandon 27.593 and Diego 27.691. Dungey ended in 4th with Musquin, Roczen and Marino respectively.
Final – We saw Kc and Brandon battle it out for first but Kc held on til the end. There were a couple spins out and bumping but that’s racing. These are some of the most competitive guys we’ve seen on the track at once. Everyone had a great time on the track!
Here are the results from the Red Bull KTM Supercross riders vs Fast Lap winners FINAL RACE.
1. Kc Cook – 27.385
2. Brandon Walsh – 27.474

Boris Said’s name will be familiar to any North American racing fan, from road racing to NASCAR. That’s because he is one of the most verstile racers in the world – competing in multiple racing series and a wide variety of cars. Said has been driving in select events for Turner Motorsport since 2005. He co-drove the entire 2006 Grand-Am Cup GS season with that year’s Champion Anders Hainer, in a Turner BMW E46 M3. In 2005, he was the overall winner of the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring – the first American to do so. Said will be bolstering the Turner team’s already stellar 2012 Rolex 24 line-up, aiming to add the GT class victory to his two previous Daytona 24 Hour wins. Said will also be driving the #97 with Michael Marsal for the full 2012 Continental Tire series season.

The ten fastest kart drivers in the country assembled at the Dallas Karting Complex last year for the Red Bull Kart Fight U.S. National Final. Thousands of amateur kart drivers submitted times at local qualifying complexes, K1 Speed SoCal and Texas locations, with the top drivers earning a trip to Texas to go head-to-head to determine who would represent the USA at the Red Bull Kart Fight World Final in Bologna, Italy, on December 8th and 9th.
K1 Speed was well represented in the kart fight including; Kc Cook, Charles Eichlin, and Anthony Nguyen. After the final, Red Bull treated the guys to a great experience at the Circuit of the Americas for F1 weekend. They got to see some of their favorite Formula One drivers up close at the new Austin track. Congrats to Kc, Charles and Anthony on making it to the Finals. We look forward to 2013 on hosting another Red Bull Kart Fight.
“Even though I wanted to win, of course, it doesn’t really matter, I just love racing,” said 5th place finalist Kc Cook, 21. “I’m just happy I got to come to Texas, compete at the nice Dallas Karting Complex, and I get to go to my first Formula 1 race tomorrow. Huge thanks to Red Bull!”

450 Main – Justin Barcia wins it! Ryan Villopoto takes second! Davi Millsaps third. Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart ended the night in seventh followed by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey in eighth. Dungey had a difficult night, getting off the start in 16th. He was able to charge through much of the pack, but time ran out before he could make up enough time to earn a top-five finish. Ryan still has his sights on this week’s race at A2 with a podium finish last time he was in Anaheim. Ryan sits atop the standings in 5th place, 33 points.
250 Main – Eli Tomac was out front and cruising. The defending 250 West Champion won in consecutive races! Second place goes to Kenny Roczen – as he got past Martin Davalos! Davalos finishes third! Ken sits atop the standings in 2nd place, 44 points.
Ken Roczen said “I messed up on the start, although a pretty good race overall. I’m happy – but if you want to win the championship you can’t make little mistakes like I did at the start. I want to thank the fans for coming out, and look forward to seeing you all next week in Anaheim!”
See you all this week at A2 for another great race!
