Learn More about Our Youth Racing League
We believe that there is no better way to become involved with youth kart racing then with our youth racing league! The five month series is affordable, safe and accessible, and is intended to serve as an introduction to racing. As the youth kart racing league season progresses, drivers are able to use the experience to continuously improve their performance, and our timing system provides objective results which can be compared to previous races. We are proud of our youth kart league and are confident that you will not be disappointed with it!

During the series, each driver will participate in a Mini Grand Prix format race, consisting of a qualifying session to determine the starting order and a race for position. In the final round of the season drivers will compete in a full Grand Prix format race, which includes a practice session, qualifying session and 16 lap final. Our 12 round racing league series provides participants with the opportunity to experience the thrill of wheel-to-wheel racing, allows for extensive seat time, and even rewards top finishers with prizes and trophies – needless to say, we highly recommend it!

Our July Junior league begins the second season and sets the bar at an incredibly competitive level . With Seth at the pole and Luc and tucker eagerly waiting for their chance to make a pass as the green flag drops. All the racers are tightly packed for the first 5 laps, while Megan incredibly passes her way to fourth place all from the back in a matter of minutes. Positions remain till the 7th lap when tucker makes a very clean pass to first place on the last turn of the track. This pass is challenged at every turn following till the end of the race. Though Seth puts up a valiant effort he cannot make any successful passes to hold a position. A final push on the last lap brings Seth and tucker neck and neck as they approach the checkered line but tuckers able to squeak out the first by only 2 thousandths of a second!! Leaving Seth at the second position and Luc in third. This race determines the level of competition for the entire season and it proved to be an intense event. We appreciate everyone’s participation and congratulate Tucker, Seth and Luc at their podium finish.

Great racing all around, despite several stops early in the race, the racers were clean and respectful while aggressively trying to set them selves up well for the beginning of this second season in 2013. Lauren, although qualifying in second position was unable to hold off the advances of Mason and Camden who artfully snagged positions from her throughout the race pushing her down to finish in 4th and off of the podium. Alex was the true champion of the event, qualifying on pole and holding onto first position throughout the entire race.

Teen League kicked off last night in Anaheim, but we raced with a small field, a very small field. Only one dedicated young racer, Ryan Smith came out, but he showed some good speed, and put some Championship points on the board. Ryan runs very consistent lap times in the mid 29.4 range which for a youngster as himself can be coached up into the mid 28.0 by end of the season. I really like seeing a racer reach this point, it now becomes a challenge to perfect their skills, and see quicker times with great skill and consistency in every lap. Thank you Ryan for displaying some great racing skills at the Season Opener in Anaheim.

We had seven experienced drivers show up for the Season 2 opener. Right out the gate Chance took off and never looked back, there was a hard fought battle for 3rd place between Jordan and Riley. Unfortunately Riley got pinched on lap 7th taking her to the back of the pack. The hard charger award is going to have to go to Max for making it from last all the way to 4th.

Great start to Season 2 of the Junior League. Looking forward to next month’s race!

Tuesday’s event was a great start to season 2 of the K1 Speed Junior League 2013. Known around these parts for laying down fast laps, Landon Southwell did what he does best and ran the fastest qualifying time with a 30.364 sec. lap time. The Final race surely lived up to the hype with safe, yet thrilling K1 racing action. These future pros would not let a podium finish out of their sights for a moment and battled it out to the finish. In the end it was Landon Southwell rounding out the podium in 3rd, Taylor Gibson in 2nd, and your very own Davis Southwell claiming the victory with a 1st place finish. Excellent effort by all of this month’s participants, keep up the good work. See you next month!

Point totals are very close and anticipation is very high for the June installment of K1Speed Ontario’s Junior league challenge. As the season finale Grand Prix begins our racers are very focused on their goals for the evening. With an additional qualifier at hand the competition is that much more intense as all of our racers fight for the pole. Luc Mayer comes out as the top qualifier for the first qualifying round with a time of 28.45, yet qualifying is not over! Even more desperate for top times, all of the racers lower their qualifying times in the second round, but Tucker Turner takes the cake with an amazing qualifying time of 27.49!!! After a short break our racers are ready for the final! Qualifying first, second and third is Tucker, Megan, and Luc followed by Seth and Dylan in fourth and fifth. At the drop of the green flag all of our racers are literally bumper to bumper for the first few laps. By the 4th lap, Dylan starts to fall a few seconds behind do to very small maneuvering errors, but the rest of the pack remains tightly packed with no passing opportunities. The race is uneventful till the 7th lap when Megan has a very clean opportunity to make an outside pass on Tucker to advance to first place. Noticing the threat tucker swings wide to block the lane, in doing so he and Megan both loose speed and create a wide open path for Luc and Seth to pass on the inside. This fatal error brings tucker to third and Megan to fourth, meanwhile giving Luc and Seth a fighting chance at the first and second position! In the remaining laps Megan and Tucker battle each other while trying to close the gap between each other and the leaders. With 5 laps left, Seth does everything in his power to make a clean pass on Luc, yet Luc’s hard work holds strong through the finish line as he acquires his first Junior League Win! Following Luc, is Seth at Second and Tucker in Third as well as Megan and Dylan in fourth and fifth. A very exciting and eventful Season finale closes out a very exciting season for Ontario’s Junior League! Much appreciation to the participation and sportsmanship throughout the season!

With the final scores gathered our totals bring Luc to third place for the entire season with a total of 34 points! With a total of 44 points Tucker proudly holds the second position for the season. By a mere 2 pints Seth McDonald hold First place for the first season of 2013 with a total of 46 points! Congratulations to our season winners and K1Speed Ontario anticipates an exciting new season beginning in August!
