The A Main was FAST!! Racing the track opposite direction did not slow anyone down this night. Track record holder, Ignacio Martinez, almost set it again by putting up 26.3 lap after lap to go on and win for the second straight time. Jason Young has improved week after week and finished 2nd this week. Rounding out the top 3 was Matt Hammock.

The B Main was the most interesting race of the night. It was full of excitting racing and and had a top 3 that consisted of father and son, current #6 in the K1RS Overall points and a former top 12. Hunter Hughes held of the father son duo of Donald Munroe and Bray Munroe to win the B Main and show why he was in the top 12 K1RS Overall. Donald Munroe , who is ranked #6 overall could’nt quite catch the leader and had his hands full holding his hard charging son, Bray Munroe who recovered from a bad start and climed from last to 3rd.

Newcomer Perry Pham bested a strong and experienced C Main field to win his first medal of the season. Chase Williamson and Darrin Wicken had a strong race and avoided some wrecks to take home 2nd and 3rd respectively. It was another great turnout and expect the Oct 7th event to be even bigger with all the hype going about the F1 event coming soon! See y’all then.

The A Main Event was FAST! Great racing from top to bottom with everyone hitting a 27 second fastes lap time. Track record holder Ignacio Martinez beat the field and showed why he is Austin’s track record holder. In his second qualifier he put up a 27.397 to earn the pole position and earn bonus points in the standings. Timmy Palmer battled from several spots back to take 2nd while Chris Splendoria turned in another great performance to finish 3rd and move into 2nd in the overall points standings for the season. Season Points leader Donald Munroe finished 4th.

The B Main had a lot of good racing from the start to the finish. Newcomer to the GP Challenge Jason Young held off Matt Hammock and a charging Phil Hammel to win and receive 36 points in the overall standings.

The C Main was full of excittement and everyone was wondering how these guys didn’t put up faster qualifier times after watching this one. The top 3 finishers were Brian Gilbert, Dale Daugherty and Chase Williamson. GP # 2 was bigger and faster than the last. We expect the momentum to keep on going. Look for next months GP to be run in reverse direction on the the track!! See you all then!

Indoor Kart Racing Lets You Enjoy Racing & AC

Kart racing can get your adrenalin pumping as you dash down the straightaways and negotiate hair pin turns. But this is no fun if the Summer sun is beating down on you and you’re choking on the fumes and dust of your fellow drivers. Well science has come to the rescue. K1 Speed has replaced the karts’ gasoline engines with powerful electric motors which makes things quieter and eliminates the fumes. And since there are no fumes you can bring the whole course indoors and enjoy racing in air-conditioned comfort. K1 Speed has setup shop in Austin in a huge warehouse area on McHale Court just south of the Intersection of Burnet Road and Braker Lane.
