The August GP brung out 11 speedsters. In both qualifying rounds the group was closely knitted.
All running in the 23 seconds. A second and half seperation from leader to last racer..Great racing with skilled drivers. Alan Wong posted tonights fastest speed of 23.433
Final race start was a bit unusal as the front leaders delayed their start as second tier racers got a timed jump out infront. Alan front poll position fell back to fifth. Clement started in 4th claimed second place. At third was Mike Chang for most of the race.. in the 12 lap things would change, CLement got hung up in s turn creating confusion and all positions changed.. Alan Wong would reclaim a top postion (2nd) and Parker Portlock would claim 3 for the podium..Steve Plentl from the odd start slide by ALan in between the kart and the barriers to speed away while others jossled for position behind..Steve never looked back and was never threatned claiming August champion.
This Final was a much closer race. Larry Bell held the pole and fought for 6 laps to hold off Daniel Harness and Alan Ma Wong. As the race progressed Alan and Daniel edged one another out of first place by fighting for second place as Larry Bell was able to pull slightly ahead of 2nd and 3rd place and winning our first race in season 2 of 2013.
In this seconary Final Parker started out in front and never looked back. But lap 6 he was 5 seconds in front and kep the pressure on. Once the checkered flag dropped Parker had opened a 10 second plus lead on 2nd place Steve Plenti and 11.7 second lead on 3rd place Dusty Duke.

March had two new racers attend the challenge both prove to be worthy competitors and will likely return to make moves in the standings.
The faster qualifying time belonged to Temple Run with 22.9 earned him a great pole place position but during the course of the finals fell back to fifth. Two of the top 3 finishers where no stranger to the podium last year. 2012 Champion, Teddy Hoang, finished second and Steve Plentl maneuvered his way into First Place. New to the podium was Larry Bell placing third.
February prove to bring the crowd out for the reverse GP Challenge. A hardcore group of 15 came out with 10 new racers challenging five GP veterans. In the group last year’s champion, Teddy Huang, was all geared ready to go knowing he is a marked man. In the qualifying first round no racer could separate himself away from the rest . Reverse proved to be a challenge, no racer cracked the 22 sec mark. Next qualifying round one racer did so after a careful eye of the previous race. John-Conner Hudgeons 22.891 was the fastest so far until Ramiro Diaz 22.609 set the bar for speed for the night. Close behind the reigning champion was at 22.631.
First final was exciting as racers maneuvered for position the whole race…In the pack the only female racer, Laura Castro, held her own with the big boys and placing 5 in the end one notch above hubby, Lucio, in his race in second final…In the end Clement A with some swift turns managed to hold off the pack and take the first place on podium 22.849 second was Steve Plentl 23.051 third was Jason Edwards 23.145…In the grand finale the race change leaders several times until a major crash held up the pack and Jacob Temple took over the lead never looking back. The pack could not catch up as the jockeying continued. Teddy Huang , Alan Ma Wong, John-Conner Hudgeons would seem to switch positions on every turn and lap. Teddy mishap caused him second place and dropped him down to fourth but on the last lap turn John_Conner cut it too close and got hung up causing him a third place trophy. In the mist of the race Clement ran out of laps as he moved from last all the way up to 5th and posting the fastest time of the night 22.566.

The start of the 2013 season was full of anticipation and excitement as returning contenders and champion, Teddy Hoang, battle for the top spot.
It was great to see familiar faces at the first Challenge GP of the season. We look forward to see those racers return, as well as seeing more and more newcomers come out and try to see if they can beat the best of the best.
