Get ready Junior and Teen racers! The K1 Speed Jr. Challenge GP race league has round II coming next week August 2nd to the various So-Cal and Southwest locations. Younger drivers will have the chance to compete in the growing race series that has seen more and more new faces coming out over the last few months to create an extremely popular race series which have given multiple drivers the chance at competitive kart racing in the K1 indoor kart centers. Many of the locations have changed their track layouts as well giving racers a chance to compete on an all new challenging race course and make a run at a podium appearance. The Mini GP race format which incorporates a single qualifying race session and corresponding main event rounds gives everyone a chance at finishing at the top! Entry fee is only $40 per driver.

K1 Speed has partnered with Bergenholtz Racing to bring the next K1 Speed RS Score competition for August and September. Starting August 1st K1 Speed drivers will have 2 months (till September 30th) to accumulate the most RS points possible and get a chance to be a honorary crew member with the Bergenholtz Racing Formula Drift team for two days. The winning driver will be an honorary crew member during the Formula D Title Fight finals in Irwindale California October 7-8 which includes getting to do a ride-a-long with team driver Joon Maeng, an official crew jersey, hat, shirt and dinner with team.
This contest applies to all Southern California location participants – so get to your favorite center starting August 1st and start racking up those RS points – remember the more racers in a lapping session the more points you can collect!
In the largest Challenge GP to date, K1 Speed in South Florida hosted 86 drivers Sunday night to kick off their Challenge GP race season for the 2nd half of 2011. The Super-Track configuration which combines both tracks on the concrete surfaced race course, is the first of its kinda in the Ft. Lauderdale area as K1 Speed brings European style indoor kart racing to the region. Thanks to the large number that joined us at K1 Speed in South Florida, giving us the largest attendance ever in the history of K1 Speed for a Challenge GP event, this produced 7 Main events for the evening for spectators on hand with an A, B, C, D, E, F, and G mains.
Jason Drescher was the main man of the night qualifying for the pole position in the A main and going on to take the win over 85 other drivers. He was followed by Matthew Mccabe who took second and Michael Whipple in third to round out the top three. The race for the chase to the overall points championship is in full swing as well with Jason currently in the lead with 162 points. With all drivers just separated out by a couple of points it will be a close race to the finish!

K1 Speed in Hollywood, South Florida will be introducing the Junior indoor kart racing league August 2nd, to the South Florida kart racing community. The highly popular league on the west coast will now be available to our younger racers to participate in giving them the same racing format that is found with our adult Challenge GP race series. Registration and sign-ups will be at 7:00 PM on the night and qualifying will begin at 7:30 PM. Drivers will be separated by height to ensure safe and competitive racing, both the Junior karts and Adult karts will be utilized in separately run groups. Entry fee is only $40 per driver per event.
Get ready Florida – K1 Speed located in Hollywood, Florida presents the Challenge GP Race Series! Indoor kart racing at its finest comes to the largest K1 facility with a 6 month race series on their Super Track Configuration! The unique concrete surfaced layout will combine both tracks to create one large ‘Super Track’ giving drivers an all new technical layout and a new challenging course to race on. Utilizing european style indoor racing karts the newest K1 Speed facility will be the place to be this Sunday July 10th as drivers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in what will quickly become the most popular karting facility in Florida.
Entry fee is just $55 per person for a Grand Prix format on the Super Track – sign-ups will begin at 6:30 PM and qualifying will start at 7:00 PM. Double qualifing rounds and corresponding main event rounds will place drivers according to their qualifying lap times.
NOW OPEN – In South Florida – K1 Speed, located in Hollywood, Florida, opened the doors to its newest premier indoor karting center today. The K1 Speed staff welcomed a large crowd of karting and motorsport enthusiasts and novices alike, all wanting to try the latest in European-style, high performance electric kart racing. This Ft. Lauderdale/Miami-area facility is the next in a string of debuts as K1 Speed expands nationwide from its highly successful roots in Southern California. As a larger facility featuring two separate tracks for racers to enjoy, the fun and challenging courses are laid out on a concrete surface, which gives drivers a combination of high speed corners and straights along with tight hairpins to keep them on their toes. There will also be a Super Track configuration, for drivers to race on in the coming months, which will combine both indoor tracks to create one large, exciting course layout.
