The K1 Speed staff welcomed a large crowd of karting and motorsport enthusiasts and novices alike, all wanting to try the latest in European-style, high performance electric kart racing. This Ft. Lauderdale/Miami-area facility is the next in a string of debuts as K1 Speed expands nationwide from its highly successful roots in Southern California. The next three K1 Speed indoor karting facilities are planned for Santa Clara, CA, Austin, TX and Charlotte, NC. “We are excited by the reception we’ve gotten from our customers in Southern California, Washington and Arizona to date,” said David Danglard, K1 Speed’s CEO and founder, “and we’re eager to take our unique racing concept to Northern California, Texas and North Carolina so people there can experience the fun, thrill and excitement of one of our centers.”
K1 Speed was conceived and created to offer enthusiasts and amateurs alike an authentic and genuine racing experience in a safe, comfortable, accessible and unparalleled environment. The new centers in Santa Clara, Austin and Charlotte will have the same high performance European electric karts found in the company’s current facilities so that customers there will be able to enjoy the thrill of racing while having a fun and exciting experience. With the busy race weekend ahead, K1 Speed is the place to be for all of your kart racing and NASCAR viewing enjoyment! With the Gatorade Duel 150′s on Thursday, the NASCAR Camping World Truck series race on Friday night, the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500 on Sunday, K1 Speed has put together this special offer – come in Sunday to any K1 Speed location and take advantage of our special offer to buy 2 races and get 1 race free, all for just $40. This will probably be an emotional weekend for NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt, Jr, who initially won the pole but now has to start in the back on Sunday because of a wreck in practice Wednesday, because this 500 marks the 10th anniversary of his father’s passing in the 2001 race. A moment of silence will be held on the 3rd lap of the race to honor Dale Earnhardt, Sr, The Intimidator, for his many accomplishments, and remarkable legacy.
K1 Speed also has a busy weekend of kart racing ahead with two K1 Challenge GP events on Sunday with K1 Irvine holding round 2 of its current series Sunday morning and K1 Carlsbad holding its GP later that evening. Both locations should be busy all day but will definitely have some great racing action for anyone in attendance – don’t miss out!
