Good Day Atlanta visits K1 Speed in Duluth
13 May 2015
It’s an exciting month for NASCAR fans, as Charlotte Motor Speedway prepares for the 10 Days of Thunder. This weekend is the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race (May 16th), followed by the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24. In preparation for the races, Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken is spending the week looking at some race fan hotspots in both North Georgia and in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Families looking to satisfy their own need for speed can head straight to K1 Speed Atlanta, an indoor go-kart racing facility located in Duluth. The facility is open seven days a week, and offers European electric karts that include “instant torque,” enclosed motors, and top speeds of around 45 miles per hour. The facility is also available for birthday rentals, corporate events, and other group activities.
Meanwhile, up in Charlotte, Paul took a trip to the Hendrick Motorsports headquarters, just down the road from Charlotte Motor Speedway. While there, he got to tour the racing team’s impressive museum, and also watch crews work on cars for Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon.
