K1 Speed Anaheim will be hosting a celebrity charity event July 25th
K1 Speed Anaheim will be hosting a celebrity charity event on Sunday, July 25th 2010 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Orange County, which provides disadvantaged families with medical treatment and child care.
Open to the public, the charity event (admission is $10 for spectators) will feature wheel-to-wheel racing action on K1 Speed’s unique indoor go kart track, and celebrities from the world of entertainment and athletics are scheduled to take part. K1 Speed’s environmentally-friendly, high-performance electric karts can reach speeds of 45mph and are sure to provide an authentic, exciting racing experience for those who take part.
Nearly 20 Hollywood celebrities will be attending the Ronald McDonald House charity event at K1 Speed Anaheim, among them Corey Feldman, Justin Berfield from Malcom in the Middle, Justin Chon from the Twilight series, Eric Close from Without a Trace, and Christopher Knight. The doors will open at 10AM, with the celebrity introduction scheduled for 1:30PM. A driver orientation meeting for participants will take place in the morning, followed by patron competition between 11AM and 1PM. The public is invited to take part, not only because proceeds will support the Ronald McDonald House, but also because the top patrons will receive prizes, including a grand prize trip to either the Estrella Del Mar vacation resort in Mazatlan, Mexicoor the El Dorado Ranch in San Felipe!
Driver fees for the public are $20 for a 10 lap race the day of the event; spectators are welcome to talk with the entertainers and athletes and watch the action from the sidelines, including the venue’s 2,000 sq.ft. mezzanine overlooking the track.
