K1 Speed Goes International with Mexico City Center

K1 Speed, America’s largest karting company, set to open first international location in Mexico City, Mexico.

Irvine, CA June 24, 2015 – After 12 years of promoting indoor karting across the country, K1 Speed is now opening its first franchise location outside of the United States. Partnering with a local business entity that knows the market well, K1 is setting its eyes on further expanding the sport it knows and loves.

Company founder and CEO, Mr. Danglard, states, “We are pleased to have found Socio/Partner-BJE to work with, and look forward to opening many more centers throughout Mexico and Latin America with this incredible organization.” This represents a tremendous milestone, and further sets the company apart from the various competitors that have popped up to challenge K1 Speed since its founding in 2003.

Indoor Karting Comes to Mexico City

Opening in Fall 2015, K1 Speed’s first overseas location will reside in the popular commercial area of Interlomas, home to one of Mexico City’s largest shopping malls. The center will carry on the proud K1 Speed tradition of offering individuals the opportunity to race 100-percent electric go-karts on professionally designed indoor race tracks. Of course, in addition to the on-track action, visitors should expect a spacious lounge area, meeting space and party room, a fully stocked snack bar, a museum-quality collection of authentic racing memorabilia, and various arcade games and pool tables.

In the spirit of bringing indoor karting to the masses, anyone can race at K1 Speed – any time of day, any day of the week, without a reservation. So long as basic height requirements are satisfied and a person is physically able to operate the kart, little else is required. K1 Speed provides the helmets, machinery, and tutoring necessary to get up to speed, both figuratively and literally. People just have to show up and strap in, and they’re on their way.

Racing Options to Meet Every Need

A number of racing options are available for competitors to take advantage of. The most popular is K1 Speed’s “Arrive and Drive” option. The package is appropriately named, as racers can show up anytime and compete with up to 12 other people – friends, family members, and strangers alike – in a 14-lap heat against the clock in identically prepared karts. The package is competitively priced, and makes racing at K1 Speed truly accessible.

For larger parties or private parties, several custom race packages are offered as well. These packages are designed for parties of 8 or more people and tend to be popular for birthday parties, corporate events, team building exercises, and other special events. The added benefit of these packages is that they feature a multi-heat format, including practice, qualifier, final, and podium ceremony; which means more track time for racers. Of course, reserved race times don’t hurt either.

K1 Speed’s Newest Kart Track Has a Deserving Home

With the opening of K1 Speed Mexico City, the company is setting off into unchartered territory – as well as setting its sights on becoming the largest and most reputable indoor karting company in the world. After opening 28 locations in the United States in just over a decade, the time to branch out has arrived. With Mexico’s rich motorsport heritage – the country has hosted everything from the Baja 1000 to Formula One – Mexico City seemed like a natural fit for K1 Speed’s first international location. The company looks forward to bringing the thrill of indoor karting to the people of Mexico.
