04 April 2011
K1 Speed in Ontario, California is going strong with their Enduro Thursday’s program giving drivers 85 laps of karting competition, bringing not only race strategy but pit strategy as well into the mix creating an all new challenge for drivers to conquer. The well known San Bernardino location typically hosts a number of kart racing enthusiasts and last Thursday was no different, with drivers taking their shot at making an appearance on the podium in this fast-growing Enduro Challenge. The rolling start format, which is also used in our various K1 Speed Challenge GP events, seems to be a favored starting sequence and was used once again for this event. This past week’s race was a bit one-sided as Evan Sumpter made quick work of the field finishing ahead of second place finisher Tyler Brazeau, who was 3 laps down from the lead lap, and third place finisher Jacob Hornsby, who finished 4 laps down from the lead lap.
The Enduro Challenge is quickly becoming a popular event with drivers from all over the Inland Empire and beyond making the trip to compete in the best indoor kart racing in San Bernardino. This Thursday’s race will begin with sign-ups at 6:30 PM and racing will start at 7:00 PM. Drivers will have 85 laps to compete against each other and make a run for the checkered flag. Come out this Thursday and see if you can handle an hour of perpetual racing excitement at K1 Speed in Ontario, California. Make sure to get your laps and track time in now as this event will soon change to a monthly instead of weekly schedule.
