Centers, Racers Qualify for E-World Championship

Seven months down, five more to go to rack up the points necessary to qualify for the K1 Speed World Championship! Time for us to check in on the current qualifiers, and see how we’re looking, but first it’s time to answer a couple FAQs.

 

How Do I Enter the K1 Speed World Championship?

 

After our last post, where we announced that the World Champion would now be receiving a whopping $15,000 prize, we got a tremendous response from new racers looking to enter the competition. One of the most asked questions was, “How do I enter the World Championship?”

 

IT’S EASY! You’ll need to be 14 or older and possess 4,000 K1RS points by the end of the year. We give you 1,200 points right off the bat, so you really only need 2,800 points more to reach that target. For the dedicated racer, it shouldn’t be a problem at all.

 

Why Is 14 Years Old the Minimum Age Requirement?

 

Since the finale will be held on an outdoor track, in pro karts that reach speeds of over 70 miles per hour, we feel 14 years old is the minimum age required to maintain the high safety standards we already possess. If you’re younger, don’t worry – this is the first of many years we’ll be hosting this championship, so your time will come!

 

And for those who are older, don’t worry, there’s no age limit – so there better be some grandparents out there proving that they can still bring the heat to the younger generations!

Who Has Qualified So Far:

 

So far, we have over 30 people who have the 4,000 points necessary to qualify for the World Championship. These people come from 16 different centers: San Diego, Atlanta, Santa Clara, Phoenix, Irvine, Concord,  Anaheim, Houston, Denver, Dublin, Kapolei, Austin, Sacramento, Ft. Lauderdale, San Francisco, and Dallas.

 

Another 28 drivers have 3,000 points and are on the final straight to qualify by the end of the year. These racers call an additional eight locations their home track: Torrance, Carlsbad, Redmond, Addison, Buffalo Grove, Wilmington, San Antonio and Indianapolis.

 

That means we should have AT LEAST sixty drivers from 24 different locations once all is said and done, but there’s still plenty of time left! If you live near our Ontario, Miami, Orlando, Arlington, Sandy centers, start earning those points so you can represent your city/center in the World Championship!
