NASCAR and Nationwide Series drivers visit K1 Ontario
24 February 2010
K1 Speed’s indoor kart racing facility in Ontario California, was visited over the weekend by a number of Nationwide Series drivers, which is just down the street from California Speedway in Fontana, California during the NASCAR race weekend. Team Penske Driver Parker Kligerman, along with Menards Racing team driver Paul Menard, and Team Turner Motorsports driver James Buescher all came in eager to take on the two different track layouts inside the facility. All three drivers were noted to have a big smile on their faces after their experiences and enjoyed taking on Ontario’s multiple track features had to offer.
Also in attendance on Saturday was NASCAR Sprint Cup driver of the Tony Stewart driver of the Office Depot / Old Spice sponsored car, along with his pit crew.
Nick named “Smoke”, Tony set an impressive fast lap pace of 25.89 seconds showing spectators how well he keeps his nick name among NASCAR fans. With his pit crew keeping the racing action close right behind him, everyone that was in attendance certainly got a great show of just how fast his team is in racing.
Want to take on either of K1 Speed’s indoor go kart tracks in Ontario, come up and give either one a try and see if you can beat “Smoke’s” personal time he set on the track 1 layout.
