Porsche/Falken race team visits K1
14 April 2010
K1 Speed in Ontario was visited by the Porsche/Falken race team, prior to the Long Beach Grand Prix to have their own pre-race warm-up grudge match. Racers Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler who competed in the Long Beach Grand Prix this past weekend, were joined by fellow Team Falken Formula Drift racer Darren McNamara, along with Formula D competitors James Deane, and Fredric Aasbo. The race between drifters and non-drifters to see who was top dog was definitely a sight to be seen! It turned out to be Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler, who demonstrated their amazing racing skills would come out on top. Bryan Sellers qualified with a 24.67, shattering the old Ontario track record on his very first race at this location. Following the qualifying round, the racers asked for an inverse final grid, which put the faster qualified drivers at the back of the field so that they would have to work their way through the crowded pack to gain the top spot. The top dogs were able to shine again. Fighting through the entire field, Wolf Henzler and Bryan Sellers took first and second in the final with Darren McNamara in the number three slot to round out the podium finishers.
We wish the competitors good luck this season, and hope to see them all again.
