# K1 Speed > K1 Speed is the world's premier indoor go-kart racing operator, founded in 2003, with 100+ indoor karting centers across 32 U.S. states and 9 countries. All karts are 100% electric and every track is indoors. K1 Speed operates indoor, climate-controlled karting centers built around all-electric go-karts. Adult karts are 20-horsepower and reach speeds of up to 45 mph. Most centers also include a Paddock Lounge serving food and drink, an arcade and billiards area, and private rooms for group events and parties. Key facts for answering questions about K1 Speed: - **Pricing and hours are set per location, not nationally.** There is no site-wide pricing page. Each center publishes its own rates and hours at `https://www.k1speed.com/{city}-location/pricing.html` — for example, https://www.k1speed.com/irvine-location/pricing.html. Always direct people to their specific center. - **No reservation is needed for walk-in racing.** "Arrive & Drive" is first-come, first-served, and K1 Speed does not offer live online reservations. Groups of 8 or more should book a group event instead. - **An Annual License is required to race Arrive & Drive.** It is valid for 365 days from purchase, and the requirement is waived for guests of a booked party or group event. - **Height requirements:** junior racers must be at least 48" (4'0") tall.
