K1 Speed UK – Conditions of Participation  

 

Prior to participating in any activity operated by K1 Speed all visitors must carefully read and sign these Conditions of Participation. By signing this form you confirm that you agree to each statement set out below and that each statement is true in all respects in relation to your personal circumstances.  

 

In the event that any of the conditions or confirmations below are untrue, inaccurate in any way or if you object to any of the statements then please speak with a member of our team. If you are unable or unwilling to give these confirmations, whether before or after attending the safety briefing, or if you are unwilling to participate in the activity given the risks inherent within karting, then you will be given a full refund (unless you are part of a corporate or group booking). 

 

This document is supplemental to K1 Speed’s terms and conditions and in the event that there is any conflict between this document and the terms and conditions, the terms and conditions shall prevail. 

 

Safety briefing and acknowledgement of risks 

 

1. I understand that certain risks are inherent in karting including the fact that karting may cause injuries to myself, collisions may occur, karts may overturn and by its nature unpredictable circumstances, acts and omissions may occur or be caused by other participants. K1 Speed will take all reasonable precautions to reduce the risk of injury, death and damage to property, however I understand that it is not possible to eliminate such risks entirely and that K1 Speed cannot take precautions against risks which are not foreseeable.  

 

1. I agree to watch the K1 Speed safety briefing irrespective of my experience levels or whether I have previously karted at a K1 Speed venue. 

 

1. In addition to attending the briefing, I will ensure that I understand the meanings of all safety flag before participating. 

 

1. I agree to follow the instructions of the K1 Speed UK team at all times. 

 

1. When karting, I agree that I will use my best efforts to avoid any collision or potentially dangerous situation and shall at all times avoid causing harm to myself or any other person. I agree that my safety and the safety of others is more important than any lap time or placing. 

 

1. I confirm that I am not intoxicated and that I have not consumed any alcohol, drugs or any substance which might affect my mental or physical capacity and/or my reaction speeds in the twelve hours prior to my arrival at K1 Speed UK’s premises. I am not in possession of any alcohol or drugs at the time of attending the premises.  

 

1. I acknowledge that given the nature of the activity, some surfaces may be slippery and there may be trip hazards at the venue. I acknowledge the risks that such conditions may create and agree that I will conduct myself with the utmost of care at all times while at the K1 Speed venue and conduct myself appropriately, particularly when I am on or around the track.  

 

1. I confirm that I do not have any items on or about my person which might reasonably cause an injury to myself or others. 

 

Declaration of Health 

 

1. I confirm that I am in good physical and mental health and that my eyesight meets the standard required for driving. If I am unsure as to whether this is the case I agree that I will speak with a K1 Speed team member who will be able to assist.  

 

1. I confirm that I do not suffer from epilepsy, fits, reoccurring blackouts, fainting spells, high or low blood pressure, breathing difficulties, giddiness or any other similar condition that may make it unsafe or inappropriate for me to operate a vehicle. 

 

1. I confirm that I do not suffer from a pre-existing medical condition, such as but not limited to back, shoulder, neck or spinal complaint, dislocation, weakness or injury involving breaking of any limb, diabetes, lung or heart disease, severe head injury which may lead to concussion or unconsciousness or any other condition which might make it unsafe for me to drive or, in the event that I am involved in a collision, which might result in any injury being more severe. 

 

1. I confirm that I am not participating in the activity against medical advice and that I have not been diagnosed with an illness or condition that might make it unsafe for me to drive.  

 

1. I confirm that I am not pregnant. 

 

1. If any of the above confirmations relating to my health are incorrect or inaccurate in relation to my personal circumstances, and/or in the event that I feel unwell on the day of attending the premises, I will ensure that I notify a member of the K1 Speed team and immediately thereafter shall comply with all instructions of the K1 Speed team which may include refraining from participating in any activity.   

 

1. In the event that I am incapacitated or unable to communicate for any reason during my time at the premises, I consent to receive any necessary first aid treatment that any trained K1 Speed team members at consider to be reasonably necessary.  

 

Clothing, Jewellery and Hair 

 

1. I confirm that I will remove all loose items of clothing due to the risk of personal injury that such items can pose, including, but not limited to the following: 

 

1. Head scarf or head covering of any type; 

1. Neck scarf; 

1. Loose jacket, shirt or blouse; 

1. Loose trousers or skirts; 

1. Any clothes or items tied or secured around my neck or anywhere else on my body; 

1. Long jewellery; and 

1. Handbag or side bag. 

 

1. I confirm that if I have long hair I will ensure it is securely tied up to ensure that there is no risk that my hair may be caught in any moving parts. I agree to follow the instructions of the team members at K1 Speed in relation to any long hair and to tie it up in such manner as they may direct. 

 

1. I agree to wear the clothing and equipment provided to me by K1 Speed UK and understand that I will be unable to participate if I am not appropriately dressed.

1. I understand that a failure to comply with these Conditions of Participation at any times while participating or being in the vicinity of the track may result my being banned from the venue and/or unable to participate in any karting or any other related activities.

Data protection notice 

K1 Speed will collect and use the personal data you have provided within this form in accordance with our privacy policy which can be accessed at https://www.k1speed.com/uk/privacy-policy/. We will use your personal data only for the purposes of performing the services under the agreement to which your participation relates and/or for the legitimate interests of us administering our business and protecting our business from risk. 

 

K1Speed may send you an email notification at the time your race account is created. This notice includes a welcome message and your race results. These emails are not part of K1Speed’s email newsletter subscription program you registered for at your time of initial registration. Note that if you receive any unwanted email notifications you may opt-out by unsubscribing by following the link at the bottom of such email received or notifying the front desk of the race center.  

 

Note: Liability of K1 Speed 

 

Nothing within these Conditions of Participation is intended to limit the liability of K1 Speed in any way for death of personal injury.
