With only 8 points dividing the top three drivers, the 2nd season of 2008 Carlsbad Challenge GP ended in a close race for the championship. With 52 Points, Bill Groves took the championship trophy and prize package home. Though he finished second in the final main of the year, his consistent performance throughout the season gave him enough to take the 1st place podium position. Close behind was John Tanaka in 2ndplace, Paul Ciralli in 3rd with Brad Harvey and Stephen Robertson rounding out the 4th and 5th positions. After six months of tough competition the Championship trophy and prize package goes to John Tanaka, who made an appearance at every Ontario Super Track race for the season along with the 2ndplace finisher Paul Ciralli and 3rd place finisher Chris Singleton. Toby Rodriquez, the winner of the last two Challenge GP’s, does it again. Narrowly beating out Ryan Horn by 16 pts. Toby has a history of dominating the drivers at the K1 Speed Track in Irvine. His commitment and consistency at the Challenge GP has paid off. Once again Toby has been awarded the 1st place prize package which consisted of the Super Track Challenge GP Trophy, $100 gift card to Houston’s Steak House, 3 free races, a K1 Speed T-shirt and Free Entry to Anaheim Survival race. Rounding out the top five for the Season were: Ryan Horn in 2nd place, Robert Dlugos in 3rd place, Paul Ciralli in 4th place and Alex Jun in 5th place. See complete Challenge GP results here.
