Devin Hilsinger

BOSTON

Born into the racing world, Devin attended his first event when he was just a week old, watching his dad race in the American Power Boat Association. At 8 years old, Devin began entering karting races around the Boston area. With a brief stint at K1 Speed from 2016 to 2017, Devin later returned as a manager to the Boston-Wilmington location, where he works today. Every week, Devin provides detailed, company-wide updates on the racing schedule for various series, including NASCAR, NHRA, and F1. Devin is not required to provide the update, rather, he does it out of his passion for racing. Qualities like these are why Devin excels as a general manager. “Priority number one for me is taking care of them [employees] and that’s what I look forward to. This is my crew and I get to go in and hang out with them for the day, every day,” Devin said.

Matthew Slama

CARLSBAD

Currently studying marketing in his senior year at Cal State San Marcos, Matthew Slama exemplifies what it means to handle multiple responsibilities. Matthew first got into racing as a kid by watching NASCAR with his father, rooting for Jeff Gordon. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Matthew saw an opportunity to join the K1 Speed family. Now coming up on five years with K1 Speed, Matthew approaches each shift as “a new opportunity to create whatever you can for the people who come in here and give them a great experience.” Matthew enjoys karting with friends and spending time in his very own racing simulator. After graduating from Cal State San Marcos, Matthew hopes to find a job in marketing, preferably staying within the K1 Speed family.

Roxana Tobar

DUBLIN

Roxana is the general manager of our Dublin location and has been with K1 Speed since 2020. Before K1 Speed, Roxana worked with Aziz Mourad, who is now one of our regional managers. Aziz recognized Roxana’s innate work ethic and invited her to bring her talents to K1 Speed. “Customer service has always been my number one,” Roxana said about her approach to management.  Roxana’s customer-first attitude has helped bring customers back to her location time and again. In the future, Roxana hopes to be part of the K1 Speed training team, teaching new employees foundational customer service skills. With over 11 years of experience in customer-oriented roles, Roxana embodies the K1 Speed culture and what it means to give customers a lasting experience.

Sam Hoener

CARLSBAD

As a manager of our original Carlsbad location, Sam Hoener is an integral part of K1 Speed’s culture. Growing up in Central Massachusetts, Sam immersed himself in the world of racing at 17, working at a local racetrack. He also spent time working with the SCCA, flagging both amateur and professional races. After moving to Southern California with his girlfriend, Sam brought his passion to K1 Speed. Part of the K1 Speed training team, Sam travels to opening locations and helps spread the K1 Speed culture. Most recently, Sam helped open the Horsham and Phoenix locations. In the future, Sam hopes to be the general manager of his own K1 Speed location. When he’s not helping ensure great customer experiences, Sam spends his time working toward his drone pilot license.

Matt Reagan

ANAHEIM

Born and raised in Southern California, Matt comes “from a long line of mechanically-inclined Reagans.” With an impressive career in hospitality management, Matt has loved his switch to K1 Speed. As general manager of our Anaheim location, Matt has embodied the work-family approach and looks forward to interacting with his crewmembers on a daily basis. Matt’s compassion helped improve his location’s culture when he was first hired, leading by example and never asking employees to do tasks that he would not do himself. In the future, Matt hopes to work his way up in K1 Speed’s operations department. A true family man, Matt enjoys taking his kids to the racetrack and giving them lasting memories.

Maria first became aware of K1 Speed through a friend who worked at the Buffalo Grove location. Intrigued by the center and in need of a high school job, Maria started as a cashier in 2021. A naturally organized and coordinated person, Maria excels at interacting with customers and planning future visits. “This place is like my second home… we treat each other with respect,” Maria said about the Buffalo Grove location. With plans to be a hairstylist in the future, Maria has developed exceptional customer service skills during her time in the K1 Speed family.
