Every junior gets two qualifying sessions of 8 laps each to determine which race group they’ll compete in and what their starting position is. Racer’s single fastest lap from either session is counted – not average of the two. Example: if a racer sets their fastest lap time in Q1, that’s the lap counted. Not the average of their fastest lap from Q1 and Q2. The fastest drivers move on to the A-Main final shootout for a chance at finishing in the Top 3 and progressing to the World Championships. Other groups will race for fun and final standings in the United States Championship.

FAQs
Why are sessions only 8 laps?
Racers will be driving on a unique one-off track layout that is much longer than a typical K1 Speed track, so we have slightly shortened the length of each session.
Where should I stay?
K1 Speed Ontario is located in Ontario, California: 5350 Ontario Mills Pkwy, Ontario, CA 91764. Plenty of accommodations can be found in Ontario itself, as well as the nearby cities of San Bernardino, Riverside, and Fontana.
When do I check in and pay?
Pre-check in and pre-payment options are available near the top of this page. Those who have not pre-paid will need to pay at the center the day of the event. Everybody must pre-check in.
What do racers need to wear? Do I need to bring my own race gear?
Junior racers only need to wear what they typically wear at K1 Speed: closed-toe shoes w/ socks, long hair tied up, DOT-approved helmet (provided), and headsock (provided).
Optional gear such as suits, gloves, neck protection, rib protectors, etc. can be used but is not required.
Will you serve food and beverages?
Yes, our Paddock Lounge will open at its usual time on Saturdays, 10:00 am. However, we will allow outside food/beverages to be brought in for breakfast and if there are any dietary restrictions.
