2025 K1 Speed U.S. & E-World Championship Recap!
K1 Speed’s 2025 Junior U.S. / World Championship!
K1 Speed’s U.S. and E-World Championships for our Junior drivers took place this past weekend at K1 Speed Ontario.
This was our largest U.S. Championship to date, with 67 of the fastest junior racers from 26 different states and 33 different K1 Speed centers. All children finished in the Top 3 of their State Championship, earning the right to go for glory.
To help mitigate home track advantage, Ontario’s two indoor tracks were combined to create the longest indoor karting track in the state, AND run in the reverse direction. The karts used were BRAND NEW all-electric Junior Karts equipped with lithium-ion batteries, which meant drivers could push hard without fear of losing any battery performance towards the end.
The race format for both the U.S. Championship and World Championship was identical: two 8-lap qualifying sessions and one 8-lap final race for position. Only the best single lap time from either qualifying session was counted for the racer’s starting position.
Read on to see what happened and who finished where!
Jr. U.S. Championship Qualifying
Since there were too many drivers to all run on track at once for the U.S. Championship, the 67 racers were divided into six groups on the track. This meant qualifying for the U.S. Championship not only decided the starting grid position for a racer, but the race group they would end up in: the fastest 10 racers from qualifying would be in the A-Main Race, the second-fastest 10 in the B-Main Race, third-fastest 10 in the C-Main race, and so on for groups D, E, and F.
Only the fastest racers in the A-Main race would compete for the U.S. Championship title and a chance at the Top 3 to progress to the World Championship event. So the pressure was on! At the end of qualifying, we had our six race groups by qualifying position.

U.S. Championship Races
Once the six race groups were cemented based on qualifying times, the races for position commenced. Groups F through B, while not racing for the opportunity to progress to the World Championship, still fought hard for their final standings in the U.S. Championship. The winners of each group took a victory lap with the checkered flag to the sound of cheering parents and supporters.
The A-Main race was full of competitive racing that showcased the best of K1 Speed’s U.S. Junior talent. The battle for first between K1 Speed Concord’s Kenneth Blevins and California State Champion Miles Boertje was fierce to the checkered flag. Boertje looked for overtaking opportunities throughout the eight-lap race, but Blevins consistently held him in check. It was neck and neck down to the last turn, with both racers trying to gain the upper hand across the finish line.
Just half a kart length separated Blevins from Boertje as they crossed the line. The quality of the race was evidenced by the crowd’s excitement, which echoed through the K1 Speed Ontario center. Indiana State Champion Zeke Kikta earned a third-place finish, no small feat in a pool of almost 70 competitors. With U.S. podium finishes, Blevins, Boertje, and Kikta earned their spots in the Junior E-World Championship.

The 2025 Junior E-World Championship
Jr. E-World Championship Qualifying
The top three American racers met their three Canadian challengers for the title: Arnav Bhegade, Matthew Impera, and Jordan Chan, all from K1 Speed Toronto. The Canadian drivers were allotted practice sessions during breaks in the U.S. Championship to ensure equal practice time on the track.
After the two qualifying sessions were over, U.S. national champion Kenneth Blevins put himself in pole position once again. Blevins was followed closely by U.S. runner-up Miles Boertje. Jordan Chan rounded out the top-three qualifiers and looked to improve on his third-place finish in 2024.

Jr. E-World Championship Race
A year’s worth of hard work and success in K1 Speed’s Challenge GP all led to this moment.
The grid was announced, the drivers set, and the green flag dropped. Eight laps were all that was left to determine the best of K1 Speed talent.
U.S. champion Kenneth Blevins came off the grid in first, followed by U.S. runner-up Miles Boertje and Canada’s Jordan Chan. A great move by K1 Speed Toronto’s Arnav Bhegade propelled him past Chan into third place. From there, the gap between the top three and the rest of the field continued to increase throughout the race.
The battle between Blevins and Boertje was fierce, with Blevins defending well against Boertje on the inside line. Boertje almost pulled off a passing move in the very last turn before the checkered flag, with the crowd gasping in excitement. However, Blevins was able to hold on and crossed the line in first, officially putting himself in the K1 Speed record books as the 2025 Junior U.S. and E-World Champion. The trip from North Carolina was definitely worth it for Blevins; taking home the sought-after $8,000 first-place prize. Boertje’s second-place finish netted him a $4,000 payday, and Bhegade made Canada proud with his third-place finish, taking home $2,000 for his international efforts (worth even more in Canada!).

Is Your Child The Next Champion?
Of course, the weekend wasn’t without its differences of opinion, tears shed, and hearts broken. But what the weekend did show was that every child rightfully had earned their spot to compete at the championships and demonstrated to everybody that they truly were the best K1 Speed junior racers in the United States and World. For that, every young racer that participated can be proud of their achievements, even if the final results maybe didn’t show off their true potential.
Next year, the titles are up for grabs yet again and already, thousands of kids around the country and in different countries are competing for their chance at glory in the 2026 K1 Speed Junior E-World Championship. Will your kid be the next world champion?
There are 8 rounds to go in this year’s season, and with the Top 3 from each city moving on to the State Championship, there’s still time for your child to be on the road to the World Championship next year. 2025 Teen & Adult U.S. Championship
Meanwhile, at outdoor karting facility, K1 Circuit, over 100 teens and adults from K1 Speed locations across the country and around the world competed at the 2025 K1 Speed Teen & Adult U.S. and World Championships.
The U.S. Championship format was identical for both divisions: two qualifying sessions, and one final race for position around the 1.1 mile Pro Track w/ Chicanes at K1 Circuit. The best lap time from either qualifying session determined which race group they’d compete in, with all eyeing the top 25 that’d place them in the A-Main group, where the top three finishers would progress to the World Championships as representatives of the United States.
At the end of the day, two young, talented drivers took over as our new Teen & Adult U.S Champions.
Additionally, any international drivers competing in the World Championship were given practice sessions to make up for the time their American competitors would have prior to their event.
The World Championship was also equal in format for both division: two qualifying sessions followed by one final race for position.
And while every driver had come with one target on their mind: to become the World Champion of their division at the end of the day, only two could become the ultimate K1 Speed champion.

Teen World Championship Races
Immediately after the Teen U.S. Championship, the action continued in the Teen World Championship. The top three Americans joined the three best teen drivers from Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico, plus France’s first K1 Speed Championship contender, to see who would emerge champion and claim the $10,000 top prize.

Teen U.S. Championship Races
After qualifying, the event moved in to the main US Championship races. First up was the A-Main Race to determine the US Champion and the top three drivers progressing to the World Championship. Then we ran the B-Main Race so to sort out the final standings for positions 26th on.
Salt Lake City’s Evan Rivas Wins the Teen U.S. Championship!
In the A-Main race, 15-year-old Evan Rivas from Salt Lake City quickly made moves, making his way from third on the starting grid to second position by the end of the first lap. From there, he set his sights on fellow 15-year-old Patrick Bernatovicz from Buffalo Grove, IL. At the final turn of lap 2, Rivas initiated a crossover on Bernatovicz, giving him a stronger run up the main straight, and made a successful pass for the lead before hitting Moran Corner at the start of the third lap. From there, Rivas stretched his legs, building a comfortable gap to Bernatovicz by race-end and winning the Teen United States Championship title! Meanwhile, local hero Everett Smith from Corona, CA, made it an all 15-year-old podium with a strong drive from 5th position to clinch the final podium spot that punched his ticket to the Teen E-World Championship.

Puerto Rico’s Christian Velez Wins Dramatic 2025 K1 Speed Teen E-World Championship!
On the first lap of the race, in rainy conditions, Puerto Rico’s Hector Nevares, our second-place finisher in last year’s event, pulled off a sensational outside move around Mexico’s Jeshua Gomez on lap one to take the lead. Once up front, Nevares drove like a man possessed. After just three laps, he’d already built a three-second lead and looked unstoppable in the rain.
But then, a dramatic twist. Nevares went into the second-to-last corner of the third lap with too much speed for the slippery conditions, and slid straight into the tire barriers! The crowd gasped. Gomez and the rest of the field flew by Nevares as he desperately tried to reverse his beached kart, but to no avail. A heart-wrenching scene of despair then unfolded as the driver, pounded the steering wheel, grabbed his helmet, and realized his championship dreams would have to wait for another year.
That left Gomez to fend off Nevares’ fellow countryman, Christian Velez, who was stuck firmly on the Mexican’s rear bumper in a close race for the top spot. Despite a fierce defense from Gomez, Velez finally found his way around Gomez in Turn 9. But on the next lap, Velez made a mistake and ran wide, nearly off the track in Turn 4, and almost fell victim to the conditions like his co-patriot. He managed to keep it on track, but he was right back behind Gomez again.
With just two laps to go, Velez was running out of time to get Gomez, but out of the final turn, the Puerto Rican teen got alongside the Mexican racer down the main straight to start a dramatic wheel-to-wheel final lap battle all the way through Moran Corner. Then, as Velez led half a kart’s length into the first chicane, Gomez kissed the rear of his kart, and pitched his opponent sideways, directly back into his path! Ironically, Gomez’s subsequent contact with the nose of Velez’s kart set his opponent straight again, but Gomez reclaimed the lead leaving the chicane.
No doubt seeing red, Velez took a daring crossover move from the wet and slippery outside line into the apex of the next turn, the scene of his near-accident, to power back past Gomez and reclaim first position. Velez kept it together through the esses, even stretching out a small cushion to take home Puerto Rico’s first K1 Speed Championship title! Gomez brought it home for Mexico in second, and Sebastian Espinoza made it two podium finishes out of two for Canada. As a result, for the first time in K1 Speed history, the American flag was absent from the championship podium.

Meanwhile, the third-place finisher in this year’s California State Championship , Brendyn Reynolds from K1 Speed Clovis had to fight hard offensively and defensively against a pack of money-hungry racers to yet again snatch a podium finish and progress to the World Championship final.

USA’s Garrett Manes Wins the 2025 K1 Speed Adult E-World Championship!
The stars seemed aligned for U.S. Champion Giovanni Perez D’Amico as he once again started strong from pole position for the main event. Meanwhile, Garrett Manes, knew he couldn’t waste time in his pursuit of Perez D’Amico if he wanted to stop the young Phoenix driver from repeating his dominate performance. As a result, Manes, starting third on the grid, made quick work of Mexico’s Rodrigo Arellano to steal second spot.
And so we began where we left off in the U.S. Championship: Manes hunting down Perez D’Amico. But whereas D’Amico was able to slowly pull away from Manes in the national championship, Manes was having none of that with $25,000 on the line. With two corners to go on the third lap, Manes was right up behind Perez D’Amico on the back straight and pulled out of the draft to go wheel-to-wheel at the final turn. Manes’ speed and late braking was enough to secure first place onto the main straight as the pair flashed past the start/finish line to begin the fourth lap – the halfway point.
Meanwhile, behind the two-horse race up-front, a fierce battle between Arellano, Canada’s Nathan Wilkie, and Brendyn Reynolds began to unfold for the final spot on the podium and the $7,500 prize. The top three positions were all still to play for.
But Manes was unstoppable. Though Perez D’Amico was able to stay about a second behind Manes for the remainder of the race, he couldn’t get close enough to fight back and regain that top spot. Garrett Manes flashed across the finish line first, becoming our 2025 K1 Speed Adult E-World Champion and keeping the United States’ undefeated record alive. Perez D’Amico finished second behind Manes, just 1.110 seconds behind. And Wilkie, who left our 2023 event disappointed without a podium finish, got his redemption and gave Canada three podium finishes out of three races – the only country to finish on all three world championship podiums this year.
