K1 Speed Lee’s Summit Is Now Open!

It’ll be apparent as soon as you arrive at K1 Speed Lee’s Summit that you’re in for a special treat. No other K1 Speed exterior looks like this one. Finally, a K1 Speed center has the same exact look and feel on the outside as it does on the inside. We’re talking modern design cues, striking red and black style accents, and even an exhibition space for cool vehicles (keep your eyes out for that). K1 Speed Lee’s Summit screams high-adrenaline excitement from the moment you you arrive.

 

Now let’s head inside.

When you step into K1 Speed Lee’s Summit, you’ll see the great hallmarks of modern day K1 Speed. The floors are polished concrete and the walls are decorated with images from the best in modern day Formula 1. And while you wait for your own race to begin, large windows allow you to take a great look at the indoor track from our leather couches.

You’re called to race, you’ve had your safety briefing, and now it’s time to step into your state-of-the-art electric go kart, made in Italy.

 

If you’re someone who is 58″ (4’10”) or taller, you’ll race our Superleggero go kart. These go karts are the very latest that K1 Speed has to offer for indoor racing. They’re the lightest we’ve ever created which makes for better performance around the track. And these karts are also our fastest – capable of reaching speeds of up to 45mph! Teens and adults love the thrill of pushing these karts to their limits!

 

If you’re a child who is 48″ or taller, you’ll get to drive our Junior Kart. These karts are the perfect introduction not only to racing, but to driving in general. And just because they’re smaller doesn’t mean they’re any less impressive. These little beasts can give kids the thrill of driving at speeds of up to 20mph! Those amusement karts they’ve driven before do not come close to this driving experience!

When you leave the pits in your go kart, you’ll be on our professionally designed indoor go kart track. This track features 14 turns and easily provides a fun challenge for first-timers and experienced pros alike. You’ll also notice that the track is lined with the best in karting barrier protection – Protex barriers. No dirty old tires or giant plastic bricks here! These barriers are permanent and safely absorbs any impacts from collisions much better than any other system out there.

When you’ve finished racing, head over to the Paddock Lounge – our very own on-site café where you can pick up your race score sheet and recharge your batteries. We’ve got tons of great food: burgers, wings, pizza, nachos, and a variety of desserts. And to wash everything down, we offer a large selection of beverages such as soft drinks, Red Bull energy drinks, water, and even shakes and smoothies! For those who are 21 years of age or older and have finished racing for the day, you’ll soon be able to enjoy beer and wine as well (stay tuned for that!).

You’ve raced, you’ve eaten, and now you’re ready for more fun. Walk further to the left from our lobby, and it will take to you to the Game Room where we have all sorts of exciting entertainment.

 

One of the most exciting additions to the arcade is our Omni-Arena VR Experience.

 

Omni Arena is a ground-breaking next-level VR experience. Each arena allows you and three of your friends the opportunity to play virtual reality games together without any movement restrictions. You have free roaming capabilities to run, walk and move 360-degrees without fear of running into anything in the real world. The result is an incredibly immersive gaming experience that will leave you breathless!

 

Plus, their leaderboard system allows you to see how you rank locally, but nationwide at all of the many locations Omni Arena can be found – including K1 Speed Lee’s Summit! So if you love competitive gaming, this is perfect for you.

 

Not into VR? No problem! We have plenty of other video games, prize machines, basketball hoops and more to keep everyone of all ages entertained when you’re not racing.

After your thrilling experience at K1 Speed Lee’s Summit, you’re going to want to bring all of your friends and coworkers to our place for some friendly competition. Why not make an event of it?

 

Our events are our VIP experience. You’ll get reserved race times, private racing for only your group, a race for position, podium ceremony, and, depending on availability when you book, a private event room. We have two racing-themed rooms that separate your party from the rest of the public. And they give you plenty of seating, your own TV, and other amenities for any occasion, including party celebrations and corporate events and meetings.

Before you leave, make a quick stop at the podium. This is the perfect photo opportunity for you and your group. It’s up to you: take a shot of only the top 3 drivers who finished in the top 3 spots, or take a photo of your whole group! Update (04/06/23): Starting to Shape Up!

We’re starting to see our concept come to life at Lee’s Summit, particularly our striking exterior design elements! The building is already looking great, but there’s still plenty of work to go before Missouri residents experience the very latest and greatest from K1 Speed.

Update (12/06/22): Walls Are Going Up!

The excitement continues in Lee’s Summit, Missouri as wall panels are going up as we type! Again, this is the very first custom center we’ve constructed and marks a very exciting chapter for K1 Speed. We’ll be sure to post more updates as this state-of-the-art center transforms from concept to reality!

Update (9/22/22): Construction Has Begun!

We are THRILLED to announce that construction has begun on our latest United States franchise location – Lee’s Summit! And what makes this announcement even more special is that this is the very first time we’re building out a concept that is completely built-to-suit and mirrors K1 Speed as much on the outside as it does on the inside.

We’re super excited to announce our expansion into Missouri with an exciting new build-to-suit center in Lee’s Summit (part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area). And that’s not all. This location will be followed shortly with a SECOND location on the Kansas side!

 

Built From the Ground Up Just for Us

 

Our Lee’s Summit center will look like no other K1 Speed before it. That’s because, for the first time in our near 20-year history, we’re constructing the building from the ground up to our custom specifications. This marks a change from our previous locations which are housed in existing warehouses, former supermarkets, etc. 

 

As a result, the experience for racers will be more exciting! Upon first entering the parking lot, visitors will know they’re about to enjoy an unparalleled upscale indoor entertainment experience. The exterior will be modernistic and feature red and black styling cues to match our company colors, while the interior will boast plenty of space for fun attractions. 

New Look, Same Great Attractions

K1 Speed Lee’s Summit is going to be 50,000 sq. ft. and house our indoor kart track, a Paddock Lounge café, a large gaming area, retail space, and two meeting rooms for private events. 

 

The very latest all-electric go karts will be imported from Italy to be used for racing. Adults and teens will experience our Superleggero go karts that can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. Additionally, this location will feature junior karts that allow kids 48” or taller to reach speeds up to 20 miles per hour.

MIssouri is in for a treat when we open. This is only the beginning of what will soon become the norm for new K1 Speed locations around the world.”
