The Event
Similar to the Red Bull Short Circuit event, the Nutcase Nineball event was a women’s knockout-style quad rollerskate race, where the skater in the final position is eliminated after every lap. Skaters were allowed to do whatever was necessary to progress, and the result was not dissimilar to a roller derby match. Dozens of women participated for their shot at the $5,000 prize, and all registration fees were donated to a breast cancer charity.
What We Provided
K1 Speed’s Anaheim location hosted this special evening, providing the racers with a significantly more challenging layout than the ovals frequently seen at roller derby events. The spacious spectator areas all around the track – including the overhead mezzanine – provided fantastic vantage points for both spectators and attending media.
