K1 Speed Kansas City is a premier indoor entertainment destination that offers a thrilling escape for guests throughout Wyandotte County and the greater Kansas City area. Our 580-person maximum-capacity facility is conveniently located off I-435 and the State Ave exit, near Kansas Speedway, Menards, and Camping World. This makes us a short drive from nearby places like Overland Park, Lake Quivira, and the KCK metro. On-site parking is available, wrapping around the facility. Five dedicated handicap spots are also available.

Track Layout

One of the more intricate K1 Speed layouts, the KCK center requires precision and punishes over-aggressive driving. The 15-turn track begins with a 90-degree right-hander, followed by a sweeping left. From there, drivers should enter the first major turn near the right barrier. Being on the right sets up drivers to hit the second apex. Pro Tip: Don’t focus on the first apex, since there’s one right after! After a subtle right, drivers are presented with a sharp 180-degree hairpin. Watch out for late-braking attempts going into the hairpin, as it’s one of the track’s best overtaking spots. Picking back up speed, keep your foot on the pedal through the esses and coast into the following right-hander. Again, make sure to enter the turn late, since you have to manouver around winding apexes. A few more winding turns and a hairpin later, racers cross the Start/Finish Line. We choose to use electric karts for two reasons: instant acceleration and no toxic fumes indoors. Nothing compares to the intense acceleration of a go-kart so close to the ground, and when you don’t have to worry about harmful gas fumes in the air around you, the experience is that much better.
